Climbing in Peillon

despite the sub-zero morning temperature molly and i optimistically headed out toward Peillon near Nice hoping that the sun would be strong enough to make climbing possible... and the climbing was fantastic for a few hours with not a cloud in the sky! We climbed some quality routes until it suddenly started SNOWING on me while I was fighting with a crux section... not liking the prospect of climbing in a blizzard we switched to tourist mode and visited the amazing village of Peillon, perched on a cliff overlooking the valley... this crag is perfect for the 6b-7a range, but around the corner there is a huge cave with some harder tufa-wrestling routes and around another corner there are some easier slabs.

morning frost on the trail didn't seem too promising

awesome steep routes -- it started to snow while I was halfway up

exiting... or exciting?

Peillon

We wanted to go back today but the forecast of afternoon rain and wind didn't sound appealing so we opted for sightseeing and an amazing lunch at a restaurant just behind this exploding car (from the movie Ronin)
